Product Manager
Location: Bengaluru

Roles  & Responsibilities:

• Identifying and presenting innovative and creative product solutions.

• Project management of all product integration/launches/changes throughout implementation.

• Identifying the business and operational requirements based upon the business requirements & objectives of each product.

• Displaying a high level of critical thinking in cross-functional process analysis and problem resolution for new and existing products.

• Coordinating and building strong working relations with various internal organizations including; IT, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Product Development, & Operations.

• Leading the development, approval, training, and communication of new products/product changes and their associated customer, operational, system, & process impacts to the various internal organizations.

• Responsible for providing the sales team with the necessary technical expertise to enable them to sell the product. This involves printed and electronic promotional material, product training, and relevant clinical papers.

• Responsible for reviewing product data to ensure that the field force is kept up to date on new developments regarding the companies or competitors’ products.

• Act as point of first reference for all product related enquiries and work collaboratively with colleagues in Clinical Research and Regulatory to address any issues that may arise.

• Close liaison with the field force to assess the response to and suitability of current promotional material and to ensure that the printed promotional material is being used optimally.

• Designing market research projects to assess customer attitudes to the current product range and new product introductions. Either conduct this research with in-house staff or manage an outside agency ie initial identification of suitable partner, definition of responsibilities, communication plan, divisions of responsibility, milestones, contract with company, review transcripts and reports, and recommend action plans from the research.

• Responsible for providing the sales team with the necessary technical expertise to enable them to sell the product. This involves printed and electronic promotional material, product training, and relevant clinical papers.

• Assist with the development of the annual marketing plan and for controlling advertising, promotion and sales aids in accordance with the annual marketing plan.

• Responsible for preparing product forecasts, and constantly monitoring inventory levels held at central and interstate warehouses including liaison with production (locally and globally) to ensure supply timelines.

• Liaise with the advertising agency regarding the product campaign including journal advertising, direct mail and conferences.

The Product Manager is expected to:

  • Define the product strategy and roadmap
  • Deliver MRDs and PRDs with prioritized features and corresponding justification
  • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
  • Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples
  • Be an expert with respect to the competition
  • Act as a leader within the company
  • Develop the core positioning and messaging for the product
  • Perform product demos to customers
  • Set pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals
  • Deliver a monthly revenue forecast
  • Develop sales tools and collateral
  • Propose an overall budget to ensure success
  • Brief and train the sales force at quarterly sales meetings

 

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Product Manager
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products
  • 13+ years of experience in a job in the IT market
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred)
  • Technical background, with experience in Product/Project Development
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Examples and at least one sample of an effective document delivered in the past
